Change is in the Air

A lot of changes have occurred in the Norton home recently.

I quit my job at the Plastic Surgeons office and started back into school full-time. It's a very different day to day schedule! But I am so happy with the decision that I made. I liked working and it helped with our bank account, but it was making home life very hard. Taylor was also working full time and going to school full time. So that left Leah with babysitters 4 days out of the week. Thank goodness we had our wonderful mom's and sister helping out! We were so grateful she didn't have to go to daycare. But it was still hard to know she was being dropped off at a different house everyday.

Anyway, long story short we decided I should quit work, and that gave me the opportunity to start school. I am doing most of my classes online, and just one class on campus. I love it so far! As much as I wish I was farther along in my education, I know that I needed to do it this way. If i've learned one thing in life, it's to just do what works for YOU. Not what works for everyone else, and not even what others think will work for you. So i'm back in school and loving being home with Leah!

Taylor is getting ready to take the MCAT and needs to be putting 20+ hours a week towards that. He also has a rigorous semester so working nights just wasn't going to work anymore.

Things have worked out, and he is taking a few months off from work until he takes the MCAT. Then he will be starting back up, hopefully with a day schedule! So right now we have to be very careful with money, but we are so happy with the changes that have come about. We know we are doing what's best for our family, and we are loving these few months that we can both just focus on school.

UPDATE--FAR BEHIND

I am so behind in posting! I think Leah was 5 months when I last posted, and

she is now almost 11! I would just skip to the present and start from here, but I really want this blog to document our lives. Unfortunately for you guys, our lives right now consist of Leah. We love it. :) But you all probably get sick of just looking at pictures of her. I totally understand that! But this blog really is for us... so you're outta luck. I am going to try to post some pics and updates clear from back then, and hopefully get caught up.

Again, this is embarrassing, but i'm going to be posting about the summer. In August all the girls in my family took all of the kids to the Utah Church History Museum. I think that's what it was. I had never been there before, but they had a lot of activities for the kids and it was actually a cool place. And it's free :) I'll definitely be s

pending days there with Leah if we're still here when she's older. After the museum we played in the fountains at Gateway. It was fun for me and Rach cause we got to put our babes in their adorable swimsuits! Even though they didn't get wet, we had an excuse for them to wear it!

For Labor Day weekend we went up to Bear Lake with all of Taylor's family. It was a lot fun! It was our first trip with a baby, and it went surprisingly well. It was much easier that the summer before in Bear Lake. I was dealing with morning sickness.... I would much rather be dealing with a cute baby! I'm sad, we took hardly any pictures. We did get a couple that show off the cute hats that our neighbor made her.

Well that's it for the first post. Sorry it's nothing to exciting. I'm just trying to at least document it!

Miss Jiggle Cheeks

As of lately...

Leah has grown a lot lately. Her rolls are getting bigger and more plentiful, i'm loving it! She is giggling and cooing, this tugs at my little heart strings. Honestly..i'm such a mom. I almost cried that first time she truly giggled because I felt such happiness and love that I have her as my baby girl.

She can sit really well in her bumbo. She decided to boycott rolling over. Showed us she can do it at 10 weeks, did it a few times after, but is now working on the army crawl. Is this okay? Hopefully. She sleeps amazingly well at night! For about 9 hours, eats, sleeps again for two hours. It's been bliss. I am crossing my fingers that it lasts!

She has gotten bored with just looking around, and it's fun to see that she's learning and wants to learn more. However.. this puts her into a slightly high maintenance stage. She wants to do more than look around, but she can't do anything else herself yet, so that leaves mom and dad to entertain her!

She is now four months, and I will be posting some more pictures later. But here are some recent-ish ones.

Fun Hair

Today I did a very casual version of this. It was very easy and different than my saturday pony tail. I just added some more volume so it wasn't as "prim and proper" and added a little messiness factor by loosening the bottom.
